So after a little more stalking, and another check on the Sock Pal's requirements, I have finally decided on a colour palette to knit my socks in. I'm looking for something with shades of pink and purple and possibly blue. I have a pattern in mind so now, I just need to source the yarn.
No problem you might think. Well, that's what I thought until I started looking seriously. I have found the almost perfect colourway in some LL Shepherd sock (which btw, I am dying to try) but not only am I not sure I'd be able to part with them afterwards, my SP is american. Is it just me or does it seem daft to buy american yarn (that is obviously more readily available to her) when there is so much British wool available over here?
Hmm, do you ever have those moments when you just think "Doh"? I think I just had one so I'm off the check the Colinette website for some Jitterbug. I've been eyeing it up for a while, it might be just the ticket :D

Go for the British yarn. How fun to get something truely unique. Like you said, LL can be found easily over here in the US. Keep us posted on your final choice!
If you can find a British yarn that you like & think will work well than I would do that. If not, go with the LL. It's beautiful yarn!
Besides, the sock will be special no matter what! :)
Thanks for the comments. I think I'll definatley try and find a British yarn to knit up.
